Land Aerobics Classes
Land Aerobics - FREE to members

Basic evening land aerobics class. Taught for all levels—beginner through advanced with a variety of exercises. Non-members pay $40 a month but may take as many non-specialty fitness classes as they like.
Advanced Conditioning - FREE to members
Instructor: Frank Rhames
M/W/F 5:00 - 6:00 a.m.
Higher level class. Think extreme boot camp exercises at 5 AM! Included in $40 monthly fee for non-members.
Flex, Strength & Balance - FREE to members

T/TH 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
Pilates - FREE to members

T/TH 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.
A mat based class that strengthens abs and back. She introduces new exercises all the time, but also starts each class with exercises for beginners to work on so they could join in at any time.
Active Older Adults (AOA) - FREE to members

M/W/F 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
This one is great for anyone who is older (50+) or has some limitations. Basic exercise and walking, working on joints and flexibility. A great class!

Stability Ball & Cycling - FREE to members

A combination class now held in our cycling room downstairs. This class is a great way to develop efficient core (abdominal and back) strengthening and flexibility while also working on your conditioning. A great class for all fitness levels!

Group Cycling (Spinning)

Spinning is a group cycling class designed to simulate high performance bicycle racing. Carried out on specifically designed stationary bicycles, the workouts improve aerobic and anaerobic performance. Members $10 a month, non-members $40 a month.

M/W 12:05-12:50 p.m.
T/TH 6:15-7:00 a.m.

Specialty Fitness Classes
Hatha Yoga
Instructor: Pat Kemph
M 6:30-8:00 p.m. OR
W 6:30-8:00 p.m.
This class is a combination of posture and breathing exercises. You will increase flexibility, These exercises will strengthen and elongate muscles, cells, tendons, joints and ligaments. Great for increasing agility! Members $5 a class or $15 a month; Non-members $8 a class or $30 a month. Note: These are separate classes. You attend Monday OR Wednesday, not both. Rates are per class.
Fitmix Plus!
Instruction: Bart Bradley
M 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.
(For session dates visit the programs page.) Get a boost with this unique mix of fitness plus empowerment and enrichment. Have fun and burn calories in a "Challenge by Choice", "Positive Energy Environment". This fun class includes music, fitness kickboxing and conditioning exercises. It is designed to enhance the quality of your life. Members: $ 5/class or $19 for 6 weeks; Non-Members: $ 8/class or $39 for 6 weeks

Water Fitness Classes
Deep Water Interval
M/W 6:00- 7:00 p.m.
A short warm-up, 30-45 intervals of cross country ski, high knees, etc for 20 minutes, wall push-ups and donkey kicks with lap swims in between, a little bit of abdominal work and a cool down.

Cardio Aquacise
M/W 6:00- 7:00 p.m.
A short warm-up, followed by leg exercises on the wall, arm and weight exercises (all below the water), intervals of cross country ski, rocking horse, and a cool down.

Aquacise
T/TH 10:30- 11:30 a.m.
This class is choreographed with moves in the water, followed by muscle conditioning using water resistance weights.

Arthritic Aquacise
M/W 11:30 am - 12:30 p.m. OR

This class is formed around exercises from the Arthritis Foundation. These moves are designed to increase the movement and flexibility of the participants. Great for anyone of any age who has physical limitations due to arthritis or joint problems!

Open Water Exercise

Whether you prefer deep water or shallow water exercising, intense or mild workouts, this class is for you! Participants are permitted to make use of our jogging belts, water weights, and noodles. This class is uninstructed.

YMCA Health and Wellness
The YMCA of Lenawee County has played a significant role in building strong kids, strong families, strong communities. That mission remains a key focus for Lenawee County. We offer programs that enhance health and wellness for community members of all ages.
Our Wellness Center features the latest in strength and aerobic conditioning equipment. New members are required to attend an orientation to facilitate correct and safe usage of the equipment. Orientations are approximately one hour in length and will be scheduled when you sign up for a membership.
At the YMCA, no one is turned away because they are unable to pay the full fee. We are committed to ensuring everyone in the community can benefit from involvement in the YMCA.
