2010 Strong Kids Campaign

Annual support campaign for programs & scholorship assistance

Make an investment in the future.

Did you know that the Y has provided more than $200,000 in financial assistance the last two years in the form of YMCA scholarships? As a result, over 800 kids and families have been able to participate at the YMCA.

This year, our Board of Directors has a goal to raise $36,000 for our Stong Kids Campaign. Donations are accepted throughout the year and no gift to the campaign is too small.

The YMCA of Lenawee County's Annual Strong Kids Campaign is an investment in the future of thousands of lives in our community. Dollars raised are used to underwrite memberships and YMCA programs which help develop values, build self-esteem, strengthen family life, and provide solutions to pressing community needs.

Your tax-deductable contribution helps the YMCA provide these vital programs to everyone in the community regardless of their ability to pay. For further information, please call 263-2151.

YMCA kidsIn 2009, the YMCA provided financial assistance in the form of program and membership scholarships to more than 750 local children and families. These YMCA scholarships allowed young people to participate in childcare and summer day camp, learn how to swim, and take part in a variety of youth sports programs.

Thanks in large part to the success of its Annual Strong Kids Campaign, the YMCA was able to grant financial assistance totaling a record high $97,073 this past year. All scholarship recipients met eligibility requirements and no one was denied access to the Y or its programs.

YMCA kidsThe YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign also helps to support important annual events and activities like Healthy Kids Day, SPLASH, free community swims and Y Halloween. The YMCA of Lenawee County strives to strengthen kids and families, as this makes for a happier, healthier, and stronger community.

Annual Strong Kids Campaign contributors believe in the mission of the YMCA — “to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.” Your kind donation represents an investment in the future of Lenawee County’s children, adults, and families.
