Health & Wellness

Because we know that healthy lifestyles are achieved through nurturing mind, body and spirit, well-being and fitness at the Y is so much more than just working out. The YMCA of Lenawee County in Adrian offers an excellent gym/fitness center, with great staff, lots of free exercise programs, and free wellness coaching.

Beyond fitness facilities, we provide educational programs to promote healthier decisions, and offer a variety of programs that support physical, intellectual and spiritual strength.

Dedicated staff:   Our staff is caring, competent and experienced. They are passionate about serving you and they will guide and support you through our wide range of health and wellness programs, so you can find the workout regimen that fits your lifestyle.

Supportive Environment:   When you join the Y, you’ll see that support doesn’t just end with our staff; you’ll meet other supportive people who will become work-out buddies and then lifelong friends. At the YMCA, we’re not a gym, we’re a community.

Group Exercise 

The YMCA of Lenawee County offers a wide variety of classes that are free with membership and also fee-based classes led by trained instructors. All fitness levels are welcome into any class. Participants are encouraged to work at their own level.

Group Cycling Classes 

Group Cycling is a great way to stay in shape and have fun!  All of our Group Cycling classes are free with your membership, so take advantage of this exclusive benefit at the Y!  



Join us for EnhanceFitness, a proven senior fitness and arthritis management program that improves your endurance, strength, balance and flexibility. It reduces your arthritis symptoms with safe, low impact exercises led by certified instructors in a relaxed atmosphere that promotes fun, laughter, friendship and smiles.

Seniors - if you want to have a great time, make new friends, relieve your arthritis symptoms, grow stronger, improve your balance, become more limber, and boost your activity levels, you need to come to the Y to participate in this great program! EnhanceFitness launches in early September at the YMCA in Adrian. 

Dates: 16-Week Sessions (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays..may join the class anytime in the 16-week period)

Water Fitness Programs 

Water exercise classes are absolutely FREE for Y members! Drop in to check out a class, you'll love it!

Morning Classes:

Open Water Exercise M/W/F 10:30-11:30am
Open Water Exercise T/Th 9:00-10:30am
This time is for members to come in and make up their own workout while socializing with others.

Aquacise T/Th 10:30-11:30am
This shallow water workout provides cardiovascular and muscle toning benefits. The balanced workout includes warm-up, aerobics, cool down, strength and toning and flexibility. The intensity can be modified for all levels of fitness. For all fitness levels.

Arthritic Aquacise M, W, 11:30am–12:30pm
These water exercises include low impact movements for people with limited joint motion, strength or cardio-respiratory function. This class focuses on improving flexibility, muscle endurance, range of motion and balance. For all fitness levels.

Night Classes:

Deep & Shallow Water Cardio M/W 6:00-7:00pm

In this deep-water workout, participants use equipment to keep afloat while suspended in the deep end of the pool. The balanced workout includes warm-up, aerobics, cool down, strength and toning and flexibility. Participants must be comfortable in deep water. For all fitness levels.
